Before you get in
- Have the card ready before the taxi stops; drivers often have little time at a busy curb.
- Add a nearby landmark or the hotel’s phone number. Large hotels sometimes have several entrances or a similar name across town.

How Chinese addresses are written
Chinese addresses go from the largest unit to the smallest: city, district, road, number, then building and room. So 北京市东城区示例路8号 reads “Beijing city, Dongcheng district, Example Road, number 8”. A few characters you will see again and again:

Questions
Where do I find my hotel’s address in Chinese?
Most booking confirmations for hotels in China include the Chinese address. If yours doesn’t, message the hotel before you arrive and ask for the address in Chinese characters, or copy it from the hotel’s listing in a Chinese map app.
Why not just show the English address?
Many drivers read street names in Chinese only, and English names of streets and hotels are often unofficial. The Chinese address, plus the hotel’s phone number, is what a driver can actually use.
